Ecuadorian Arts Initiative PROJECT BLOG
Each winter, I travel for five weeks teaching art to children in the central highlands of Ecuador. From orphanages to schools and in local communities, I donate art supplies and spend anywhere from a day to two weeks offering art classes.
EAI was founded by m in 2016 as a way of serving the creative needs of children throughout Ecuador. For five weeks each winter, Sarah travels throughout the country teaching art in orphanages, schools, and communities. Donations of art supplies are offered to these communities and schools along with immersion in art. The projects range from surface design to simple bookmaking and printmaking .
This project is a culmination of years training as both an artist and a chaplain. As an interfaith minister, Sarah has created an arts ministry which both serves the creative needs of children and families, but also serves as a way to connect spiritually to the people she encounters .
