In January of 2017 Sarah traveled to Cuenca to volunteer at the Girls Orphanage teaching art. She wrote a curriculum, purchased art supplies, and worked with the girls (and some boys) every day for two weeks. At the end of the project, Sarah donated the remaining supplies to the orphanage for further projects. Sarah plans to return to the orphanage in January 2018 for another two weeks of teaching printmaking and book making. She also plans to work in after school programs and schools throughout the country.
Sarah's vision is to raise enough money to offer simple printmaking and booking classes and supply the orphanage and schools with basic materials. Supplies are very difficult to obtain in Ecuador and most schools offer little in the way of Art.
The heart of this project is about offering spiritual care though creativity.
